Spotlight-on-Science was founded to be an independent source for unique perspectives on science and humanity.

Founder Bio: Dr. Levman earned his PhD in the department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto, a Masters of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ryerson University and a Bachelor's of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Dr. Levman is also an avid author having contributed over fifty articles to Spotlight-on-Science and has been published in leading scientific journals (IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, Science, British Medical Journal, and more). He has an expertise in data analysis and computer engineering with a specialty in medical imaging applications. Dr. Levman has recently finished a research fellowship as a breast cancer detection researcher at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, which was recently ranked 5th best university in the world in clinical medicine). Dr. Levman also completed postdoctoral research training at the University of Oxford at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering in brain imaging, with a research focus on the use of pH-weighted MRI for assessing stroke patients. Dr. Levman also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Levman currently works as a Canada Research Chair in Bioinformatics at St. Francis Xavier University and is affiliated with Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School as a Research Associate focused on neurodevelopmental brain imaging.
